The Wedding of Petra and Norbi at Deák Udvarház

I felt an instant connection with Petra and Norbi from our very first email exchange. They trusted my advice on everything and sought my opinion on every detail related to the photoshoot. By the time we did their engagement session, it was clear that working with them would be pure joy. I absolutely adore their engagement photos—they were so natural and cheerful that I hardly had to suggest poses. Everything they did felt effortless and perfect. We strolled around, went on a little adventure, and captured moments like these that day:

Now, let’s talk about the wedding day: Deák Udvarház is one of my favorite venues—fun fact, I had my own wedding here too! :) So, coming here to shoot is always a special treat. It was a beautiful May day, with just the right amount of sunshine and pleasant spring weather. As always, I started by photographing the decorations. Luckily, the charm of this venue proves that sometimes less is more. The color palette featured white, green, and a touch of pastel tones—perfectly matching the couple’s understated yet cheerful style.

Once the decoration photos are done, I always sneak a peek into the getting-ready moments, capturing the excitement and anticipation in the air. With grooms, it’s always great when a parent or a close friend is there to ‘help’ with getting dressed. For brides, the preparation usually takes a bit longer—understandably, right? :)—but I only start snapping photos near the end of the makeup session, when hair and makeup are almost flawless. That way, every future wife can see her most beautiful self in the photos, even years down the line. For Norbi, his mother helped adjust his suit, while Petra had her sister by her side throughout the preparations.

Once both the groom and bride are ready, there’s always an opportunity for a First Look moment. This is when the couple meets privately before the ceremony, away from everyone else, to share a few intimate minutes together. Typically, the groom waits with his back turned and only turns around when the bride is almost right behind him.

Guys, this is your moment to absolutely swoon over how stunning and incredible your soon-to-be wife looks! And yes, it’s totally okay to get a little teary-eyed—don’t hold back! :)

After the First Look, we hurried off to the church. :)

Following the church ceremony, we returned to Deák Udvarház for the civil ceremony. Afterward came the congratulations, bouquet toss, and group photos.

Before dinner, we managed to capture these stunning sunset portraits of Petra and Norbi in just 20 minutes. After the creative photos, it was time for dinner and the celebration that lasted until dawn. Here are some moments from the party:
